Today is Mother’s Day (2023). Before I was married I knew that I wanted to be the mother of a large family. The 12 children didn’t happen, because 5 turned out to be plenty.

But here I am, a happy old lady with a very large family. You see, when I was very young, it didn’t dawn on me that my children would take over the task of expanding the family.

The other day, on the occasion of the birth of yet another great-grandchild, I was asked how many great-grandchildren I now have. My honest answer was: I don’t know. There are so many, I have to count them. My biological grand-and great grandchildren have been joined through marriage and adoption by many other beautiful young people and delightful children, including 3 great-great grandsons.

To all the mothers in my family: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY ❤️❤️❤️.
