I always say that it’s important not to stop living before you’re dead. So, I haven’t. Here I am participating in the Write On Fairfax Memoirist’s event. And enjoying it!
My fellow authors were GMU computer science prof Eric Hodgkins, Chair of the Literary committee of the Fairfax Commission for the Arts, Sharon Chang, and long-term former Virginia senator, Chap Peterson.
The first question we were asked to answer was why we wrote our book. In my case, it was a painful experience. However, I hope that my story will highlight just how traumatic war is for children, even if they are not the target group. Perhaps it will be one voice among many that cause a government to reconsider before attacking another country.
