BRAVE FACE

The inspiring WWII Memoir of a Dutch/German Child

I just had pea soup for lunch. It reminded me of our cruise to Alaska which Frits absolutely loved. The ship was parked as far Norther as our cruise went. We stood in a large bay, closed in by an enormous blue iceberg. We were there a long time, probably several hours.

The view was gorgeous, the sky was blue, and the temperature was COLD! Very cold.

Then the crew came around with steaming cups of pea soup. So thick, you could cut it with a knife, with the true flavor of Dutch pea soup. The best I ever had. It’s a good memory.
